meet George Slook

George is the owner of MetaFocus, Inc. Organized in 1993, MetaFocus has evolved from a niche specialist in non-profit organization consulting into a full-service small business consulting company. George helps his clients start new businesses or revitalize existing ones. He has a depth of knowledge and experience that enables his clients to develop sustainable business models and strategic action plans.

What MetaFocus Does

Business Management

As Chief Financial Officer of Sears Holdings’ finance subsidiary, George was responsible for all financial activities. During his Sears career, he has had direct responsibility for: the Company’s multi-billion dollar capital markets program; oversight of professional asset managers who directed the investment of corporate cash; and the monthly update of Sears Holdings’ consolidated cash flow forecast.

Business Education

George is an Adjunct Professor of Accounting for Saint Joseph’s University and an Adjunct Professor of Accounting and Finance for Widener University. He has previously taught at DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management; Penn State University; and the University of Delaware.

Academic Achievement

George was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Villanova University and an MBA degree from Widener University.

Community and Military Service

George has served as a member of the Dean’s advisory board for Widener’s School of Business Administration, providing valued insight into ways the school can connect with the business community. He received Widener University’s John C. Sevier Award for Service and Dedication to the School Of Management. George serves as a Venture Pitch Judge for Veterans Entrepreneurial Jumpstart (VEJ) Program at Saint Joseph’s University. He also serves as a Business Case Judge for the Bartly briefCASE Challenge at Villanova University. Additionally, he volunteers as a Parent Speech and Debate Judge at William Tennent High School. George is a Veteran of the United States Army.
